Valentine bento and a few birthday countdowns!!

This time of year is proving to be busy and kind of a challenge for me in the bento department. You see it’s The Youngest’s birthday on Friday and Monday is Valentine’s day, so I’ve been trying to include a little something of each special day in her bentos. I also finally got the camera back after The Oldest took it on her trip with her. She had an excellent time, but came home very tired and starving!! She did tell me that they had to weigh their food waste after each meal and was excited to tell me that I had taught her well by always telling them to only take what they were going to eat and to go back for seconds if they wanted more. It seems because of this “training” she had some of the least amount of waste in her little group. I knew I was good for something!

Now on to the bentos!!

In our fantastic LunchBots container The Youngest has a homemade strawberry “poptart” with some of our jam we made this past Summer, a BabyBel cheese with a “4″ carved in it (that’s how many days it is till her birthday), some freeze dried strawberries, strawberry heart marshmallows, Annie’s snack mix in the little heart container and a little clementine.  All of the left side came home eaten, while on the right she only ate about half the clementine! I guess I over did it.  In case you’re wondering, these LunchBot containers are really great.  They are stainless steel and wash really well, it is definitely one of our go to containers, it seems that everything looks great in it!!

This is The Youngest’s lunch for today.  It’s in a really cool container that we picked up at Old Navy for $5!! Here is a link to the company that makes it so you can get a better look at it.  It really is nicely made, and if you take a look at their website you’ll see why I wish I could get more of their stuff around here!!  In our lovely new container she has a Turkey and Cheese sandwich on a sandwich thin, a clementine “tree”, a dreaded fruit by the fruit (I know, I know, these things are like toxic waste, but she got it in a goodie bag from a party and begged me, and well you know the rest!) along with some Doritos.  I hear you, not a very healthy bento today, but sometimes you just have to pick another fight!

For her snack today she has some Annie’s snack mix, a couple of heart marshmallows with a few chocolate coverd ones in the heart, some blueberries, with a blueberry “ring” and a BabyBel cheese with the birthday countdown carved in it! 3 more days, woohoo!!

The container is part of a Lock N Lock bento set from All Things For Sale, we also use these quite a bit, especially when something has the potential to spill or be juicy, as the lid is grooved to make each compartment airtight.  Some of the new picks in these photos are also recently purchased from All Things For Sale, I couldn’t help myself. Really. I can’t tell you enough about the great selection and prices at this store.  Don’t forget if you use my link and the “bentofabulous” checkout code you’ll get 5% off your order and I’ll get some credits to use for a great giveaway in the future! We all want more bento stuff right??

That’s all for today, stop by tomorrow for my first review on some really great t-shirts, and if we hit 100 Google followers today or tonight I just might have a nice little bento giveaway for you!  So make sure to like Bentofabulous on Facebook and have your friends do it too!  Its a great way to keep updated with new posts and giveaways!

Happy Tuesday!
